A New Realm

I always share how amazing my friends are and now I have a perfect example of why. Calen wrote me an email yesterday, after he read that I wouldn't be working at my school over vacation. He knew I was a bit bummed, extra money always helps through a career transition. He asked me if I'd be interested in working at the Vernon Chamber of Commerce for extra cash and to experience something new, something out of my realm. I knew, at some point, I'd have to become business savvy to apply it to Accoyo! and to this blog. I wrote him back and said yes. He then took it upon himself and called the woman that he knew there. They talked for almost an hour and she said she will be getting in touch with me on Monday. When Calen told me, I got nervous. I thought, "Wow, this isn't anything like I've been doing in the past 5 years. What if I suck?" Then I came to the realization that it was my fear talking and this is where my courage will come from. If she wants to hire me on Monday, I will gladly accept because it's Me taking action to make the unfamiliar, a familiar one.

Thank you Calen for thinking of me. You're awesome and this is one that I will never forget.
